Furosemide Lasix
Furosemide Lasix a perfect diuretic used in treatment of edema. Patients suffering with congestive heart failure and other renal problems can take oral solution, or medicines.
Salts and excess water of the body purified in kidneys and sent into tubules of the kidney before excretion. However, during the process salts present in liquid reabsorbed by blood.
Furosemide Lasix blocks the salts from being absorbed and causes profound increase in output of urine (a problem called diuresis). People can consume it orally or get an injection. Onset of action for a tablet is one hour and the diuresis lasts for six hours. For an injection onset of action is five minutes and diuresis lasts for two hours. The medication can cause depletion of water, salts of body, so careful medicinal supervision is required during treatment.
An extra dose of Furosemide drug is good for patients of edema, patients suffering with nephritic syndrome, congestive heart failure, and chronic renal failure. Usually doctors prescribe only 720 mg of the drug a day for patients with severe renal problems to obtain satisfactory diuresis. Sometimes patients don’t follow doctor prescriptions and take intravenous doses up to 990 mg and 1400 mg. These extra doses induce severe problems and lead to renal disease.
Patients should use the Furosemide only under proper administration. Edecrin and gentamicin combination creates problems in people using this drug. Aspirin a powerful NSAID when used with this drug leads to blood toxicity.
Common side effects of the drug include rashes, sensitivity to light, abdominal pain, dizziness, dehydration, and low blood pressure. To avoid severe side effects consume the dose as scheduled by the doctor. Pregnant women must avoid the drug usage. Nursing mothers should not use this drug because it secretes in their breast milk and creates problems in their baby.
